5 March #14/15 (2023). Collage of two silver gelatin prints.

I am excited to announce that I will be participating in a group show, Sculpting in Time, at The Front Gallery in Los Angeles from September 23 – October 8, 2023.

The show is presented and curated by my teacher, Georgina Reskala. It features work from Carly Murakami, David Magnusson, and myself. I will be showing eight pieces from my most recent and ongoing body of work of photographic prints, And In Between.

Join us for an opening reception on Saturday, September 23rd from 4:00-8:00 pm. Alondra Andrade, Alex Barlas, Jordan Lis Cooper, and Barry Del Sherman will perform Madagascar, a piece written by Wes Walker.

Show Statement

The work of these artists has come together with and through time. Time as a tool and an object of inspiration. Their work has evolved and transformed because and in spite of time.

Time not as a marker of a beginning and an end but rather a circular element that imposes and forces us to stop and observe. Makes us truly aware of light, shadows, lines, curves, folds, crevices, the familiar and the forgotten.

Whether they were truly aware or not from the beginning of their process, these artists struggle through the mundane, the overlooked. They stopped almost to a halt in order to catch the imperceptible; they got quiet enough until they found that which was magical to their senses and created pieces that speak of time. The result is a number of pieces that speak of many different points of view, their beauty is in their circularity, like time.
